Essential Alfa Romeo Services at Your Alfa Romeo Dealer

Alternator Repair and Replacement

The alternator generates electricity for your car by converting mechanical energy produced by the turning of the crankshaft into DC for your car’s systems. It’s very robust, but its components can wear out or suffer damage due to other engine problems. Any problem with the alternator will cause issues with your electrical system, from dim lights to frequent electrical glitches.

A burnt-out rectifier, for example, will cause a major problem. This tiny component inside the alternator converts AC to DC. If this crucial component isn’t working, the alternator will continue to produce AC. Your car’s systems can’t use AC, and the electrical system will shut down until the rectifier is replaced. We can repair many alternator problems, and we can replace the whole unit if it fails.

Headlight Repairs

Good headlights are essential for your driving safety at night or in other low-visibility conditions like mist or fog. Headlight bulbs have a varied lifespan from 500 hours to 30,000 hours, depending on the bulb type. Your headlights are also affected by other problems like worn relays, damaged lenses, and electrical shorts.

Other problems in the electrical system can affect the headlights, like a weak battery or a failing alternator. The battery supplies power to the headlights when your engine is switched off, and the alternator powers the headlights when your engine is running. Issues with either of the systems will cause dim or flickering bulbs. We can quickly repair any of these problems, from replacing the bulbs to tracing and repairing damaged wires, switches, or relays.

Air Filter Replacement

Your Alfa Romeo has two air filters: the engine air filter and the cabin air filter. The engine air filter removes dust and other contaminants from the air before it enters your engine. The cabin air filter filters outside air before it enters your AC to be chilled and blown into your cabin. This filter ensures that dirt, pollen, and other unwanted particles don’t blow into your cabin.

The two filters will become clogged over time and need regular replacement. A blocked engine air filter will create a fuel-rich engine, which leads to misfiring, damaged spark plugs, and eventually engine damage. A blocked cabin air filter prevents air from entering the AC. If your AC is running, the lack of air can damage the compressor. We will quickly replace either of these filters when required.
